Greg's Story

After university, I decided I didn’t want to go back to work in my family’s foundry. There was a small store available so I rented the store and talked my mom into working with me. We sold gold plated and sterling silver jewellery. Shortly afterward, my brother Jeff joined me and Knar was formed. The “turning point” in our business happened when a jeweler I didn’t know very well approached me at a party. He inquired how my business was going. I responded “not bad considering I was selling trinkets”. He gave me some diamond rings on consignment and told me to sell some real jewellery. He became a mentor and supplier for years to come… that’s how our business really got started.
